How AI timestamps work

  1. 1Parse video descriptionIf the creator added chapters (0:00 - Intro format), we use them directly. Free, instant.
  2. 2Fetch transcript via proxyIf no chapters, we fetch the auto-generated captions via a public CORS proxy.
  3. 3Compress + send to GeminiThe transcript is reduced to ~30% token size, then Gemini Flash segments it into topic sections.
  4. 4Cache locallyResults are stored in IndexedDB — the same video is never processed twice.
